Hello, my name is Denise Cagle. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is passionate about supporting my clients through life challenges to experience healing and growth in their lives. My approach is motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and client-centered therapy. I will meet my clients where they are and together develop a treatment plan to assist in meeting your goals during our time together.
My approach
My therapeutic approach can be eclectic in that I utilize theories such as cognitive behavior, mindfulness and motivational interviewing and brief solution focus along with Reality theory. As my client, it's important to be open-minded and willing to try new things in order to make progress with goals.
My focus
I enjoy working with clients who may be struggling with the following issues, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, grief therapy, and stress with work-life balance.
My communication style
My communication style is upfront, being in the here and now to focus on whatever is going on with my client today at this moment. I may share some insights yet not until hearing from my client. I may express a sense of humor at times, and clearly share feedback.
My journey to therapy
I became a therapist by default. My bachelor's is in psychology and I stumbled into social work by taking a position as Mental Health Community Case Manager. I enjoyed meeting with clients in their homes and helping them manage daily living activities. I then decided to obtain my License as a Social Worker, and later my Masters. I am driven to continue this work as I believe everyone needs a safe place to share their thoughts along with a safe place to keep their deepest thoughts and create new dreams.
My goals for you
Goals are created by the client, and I offer guidance, along with utilize SMART goal-setting techniques. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. We can review and make changes as needed.
