Doug is a native of Iowa who dreamed of moving west during college in Minnesota. He worked for Outward Bound in northern Minnesota which eventually led him to Montana, California and Oregon. He then fell in love with the west after living in Bend, OR for 20 years. He completed the counseling program at Oregon State University in 2012 and spent time in Portland as well as Salt Lake City, before returning to Iowa and Minnesota to be near an ailing father. He returned west with his wife and children. The family is involved in soccer, hockey and tennis and enjoy all forms of skiing, white water rafting, kayaking, hiking, biking and wasting entire weekend afternoons watching Marvel movies.
