My name is Dr. Eliot P Kaplan, (aka: Dr.K). With over 20 yrs experience, I'm pretty good at what I do. - Admittedly my style is "A Little Outside DaBox". But that's OK cos people change quickly and long-term. Specialties: Marriage / Family Counseling, Anger Management, Kids Acting Up. I am able to rapidly size up situations. My approach is non-confrontational, so no one gets hurt. I'm good at unraveling problems that keep people stuck. During our initial FREE phone consult, I'll offer some ideas to get us started on the right track.
As a Marriage Counselor and Anger Specialist, I help couples & families sort out the mess. Everyone gets a chance to give their side of the story. I'm good with partners who feel uncomfortable in the counseling situations. The good news is that I'm able to make the session a positive experience.
Kids like my relaxed style. I do well with all age children / teens (including adopted) who exhibit disruptive behaviors; anger, backtalk, lie, steal, bed wetting; and other fun stuff. My laid back approach get kids & family to 'open up' and participate.
