Dr. Mortison graduated from Yale University with a degree in Biophysics and Biochemistry, completed his medical degree at the University of California San Diego, and trained in psychiatry at NYU Medical Center / Bellevue Hospital.
He maintains an academic affiliation with NYU where he teaches and supervises medical students and residents. He is also a member of the Psychoanalytic Association of New York.
Dr. Mortison treats adults with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, insomnia, poor concentration, addiction, life transitions, conflicts in relationships, grief and loss. For those struggling with opiate addiction, he is also a licensed buprenorphine prescriber.
He strives to bring compassion, respect, curiosity, integrity and empathy to his efforts to understand and treat his patients. He is sensitive to the uniqueness of each patient's situation and adapts his consultations and treatment options appropriately to accommodate individual needs and concerns.
