My therapy is collaborative and emphasizes building trust in the relationship we have with each other to create a safe space to work in. You are the expert of your own experience, and I want to help you feel confident and comfortable with asking for what you need and finally putting yourself as a priority. At the same time, I will happily give you things to try outside of therapy and use humor to help challenge you to explore how you became who you are. From there I like to explore how our everyday lives have been impacted by our past and present through exploration and developing coping skills. I want to create a safe, non-judgmental space to explore how your culture, upbringing, and relationship impacts how you take on life’s challenges today.
I believe there is no one-size fits all for working through challenges in life. I work with clients through a strengths-based positive psychology lens. Through setting realistic goals and recognizing our accomplishments, I help clients work on building self-confidence, empowerment, and learning to advocate for personal needs and desires while working through life’s daily challenges. I primarily utilize skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Solution Focused Therapy.
What is one thing you do daily that supports your mental and emotional well-being?
I am a firm supporter of dance parties of one as well as scheduling guilt-free time to do nothing! Reality tv is my personal guilty pleasure.
