I went to Dr. Cruz-Banting because I let out my back and was in a lot of pain. She was very professional, as was all her staff. I had little to no wait time. She examined me and quickly gave me something for my pain which was a 9 out of 10. She scheduled me for therapy and her prices were reasonable. I highly recommend Dr. Cruz-Banting.

Dr. Imelda Cruz-Banting is a physiatrist. She treats a wide range of patients from those with sore shoulders to ones who suffered spinal cord injuries. The focus of her specialty is on restoring function to people. She sees patients with acute and chronic pain, musculoskeletal disorders and people with disabilities due to stroke, Parkinson's or other neurological diseases. Her patients may be a knitter who has carpal tunnel syndrome, a warehouse employee who lifts heavy objects at work and experiences back pain, an elderly person with a broken hip, someone in a bad car accident, or a football player who injured his knee and requires rehabilitation to play again. Dr. Cruz-Banting’s patients also include people with arthritis, tendonitis, any kind of back/neck pain, and work and sports-related injuries. As a physiatrist, she treats very serious disorders of the musculoskeletal system that result in severe functional limitations.
Having Physical Therapy as her premedical course, Dr. Cruz-Banting definitely has a vast experience in treating patients with rehabilitation needs. She had the opportunity to work as a licensed physical therapist in Florida before she started her residency training in New York. This gives her an edge in how to effectively help her patients recover from their diseases/injuries. She has full knowledge of the different treatment modalities used as well as the appropriate individualized therapeutic exercises prescribed to each patient.
In 2000, Dr. Cruz-Banting was board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. She is also a "physician certified to practice acupuncture." At present she is affiliated with Montefiore North Hospital and St. Barnabas Hospital, both in Bronx, New York. She is also an instructor at the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at New York Medical College, in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Cruz-Banting served as a Consulting Physiatrist for the Long Island Medical, PC and served as a full time Physiatrist at the Advance Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, P.C. She was also the Vice-President and Chief Executive Officer of Parkway Medical & Rehabilitation, P.C. from 2000-2009. Today, Dr. Imelda Cruz-Banting is President of Imelda Cruz-Banting, M.D., P.C. in New York.
Dr. Cruz-Banting is also a wife and a mother to two wonderful children. She regularly serves as a physician volunteer for a medical mission that provides medical assistance to the less fortunate people in the Philippines. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Medical Society of the State of New York and Bronx Medical Society. The doctor's manner was OK. She was curteous and asked a lot about my injury. The facility was a bit cramped and disorganized. One person in the waiting area complained about beging there for hours, waiting for PT. I thought my appointment was for PT, but the could not offer that service at that time. Why? I had to see the doctor first. Why wasn't this mentioned! I already have a doctor and DO NOT need another option!!! #notherapyformetoday #somad

The offfice is out of date. Otherwise, Dr. Cruz-Banting is great! She's very knowledgeable and knew what was the cause of my neck and shoulder pain. Did the acupuncture treatment and my pain is gone! I'll definitely refer her to my friends and family.

Dr . Cruz-Banting is a good doctor, listened and good bedside manner. The office seemed a little old fashion otherwise okay. Unfortunately my insurance didn't cover the acupuncture treatment I need. I recommend you check with your insurance beforehand.

I was impressed with the care I had and her worries and concerns about my health the staff were OK id give them a 7 but as for ms.cruz Id give her more than 10 I just had spine surgery her concern was how I'm doing everything by myself and what about my children who are caring for them I told her myself & as far as my kids I been doing everything myself I am recommended to have home services Iddidn't want too but I really do need the help I reccomend anyone too come too her office

Dr. Cruz-Banting was really great! She took a lot of tests and was extremely knowledgeable. I also noticed she had recent certifications and trainings posted for different software/pt related information. Which is great because I knew she was up-to-date and invested in her field. It seemed extremely busy, for her but she was able to gather information for me and develop a recovery plan for my health efficiently. Def recommend her!
