As a therapist, my passion lies in working with individuals to incorporate the cognitive, physical, emotional and spiritual bodies in the healing process. I am strongly influenced by therapeutic approaches that empower individuals to find solutions and heal the whole-self. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and somatic experiencing techniques in my work with individuals struggling with traumatic memories, addiction, PTSD, anxiety and depression. I have worked with individuals, families and groups in residential, outpatient and private practice settings. I believe that every individual possesses an ability to develop the tools and insight to face life’s challenges, heal, and find true happiness.
I hold a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. In addition, I hold a Master of Arts degree in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from Saint Louis University. I am credentialed by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I have extensive experience with addiction and trauma. I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist. In addition, I am a Reiki Master and yoga instructor (RYT200) specializing in Meditation, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Yin Yoga, Mindfulness and Yoga for 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR).
