In my own life, I have witnessed family members struggle with substance abuse and mental health issues. I, myself, have also experienced anxiety and depression. These experiences help me relate to many of my clients. I know firsthand how difficult it is to reach out for support and how impossible change seems when you’re at your lowest. At the same time, however, I also know about the healing power of therapy. Seeking it out for myself enabled me to improve my self-love and self-care in ways I never thought possible. I want you to experience the same thing. My philosophy is that everyone has a unique and important story that led them to where they are. I believe that people are the experts on their own lives. As a therapist, my goal is to help people unpack the areas of their lives that keep them feeling stuck and uncover the strengths and abilities they already possess. I specialize in helping individuals work through substance use disorders, self-esteem issues, stress, codependency, and relationship problems. I also provide counseling for couples, helping each partner strengthen trust, improve communication, and bridge the different expectations they bring to the table. My approach to therapy is unique because of how heavily I focus on relationships. This is particularly important when treating individuals with substance use disorders. Addictions do not exist in isolation, yet many therapeutic approaches discount this fact and put relationships on the backburner. In my practice, I seek to help people heal from addiction and heal the relationships impacted by it. I have witnessed firsthand the amazing transformation that happens when someone gets on the path to recovery. I want to empower my clients to work towards increasing their self-compassion, self-care, and overall wellness. This can help them improve their individual lives and their relationships as well..
