Jamer works with teens, families, young and older adults, and he specializes in working with fluent Spanish-Speaking individuals and families. His overarching goal is to empathically listen, offer help in reconnecting areas of disconnect, provide insight on the impact of trauma within impacted families, and support in resolving adjustment challenges to new socio-living environments.
Jamer uses an eclectic approach determined by your needs and goals. He offers insight-oriented therapy to help discover who you are as a person and understanding the “why” behind what you are doing, feeling, and thinking. Jamer brings a strength-based perspective into the process to assist children, teens, families, and adults to support uncovering strengths that reside behind perceived weaknesses.
Jamer works with trauma recovery, anxiety, relationship issues, family issues, and vulnerability. He incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, internal family systems, grief therapy, and motivational interviewing.
Jamer earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University, where he was also inducted to the Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Alpha Honor Societies. Jamer also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology while minoring in sociology from St. Thomas Aquinas College. In addition to his work, he is a bilingual clinician at an outpatient mental health clinic where he provides mental counseling and clinical supervision.
