Our relationships have a significant impact on our development as people, as well as the quality of our lives. I believe that it is also within our relationships that meaningful changes can and do happen. Whether in relationship to oneself or others, people often come to therapy to discern what safe relationships look and feel like and how to maintain those relationships with greater security. Some come to grieve a loss or to repair bonds after betrayal or conflict. Some come to begin to reclaim a sense of safety and connection after traumatic experiences and relationships. Others seek skills and insights to better navigate life changes or address challenging, recurring patterns. Some want to work through anxieties that often arise in relation to others and systemic issues at large. My practice of therapy often focuses on these interpersonal and intrapersonal tasks—how relationships and life’s challenges impact us and how to navigate them more consciously. Therapy offers a space for acknowledgment of past and present experiences and the meaning they hold in your life, relationships, and identity. As a therapist, I view my role as a supportive and compassionate witness to your life and the circumstances you face. I seek to create an authentic therapeutic relationship founded on sincerity, curiosity, and earned trust. I believe the therapeutic relationship is an essential part of effective and meaningful therapy. I assess and keep in mind which therapeutic approaches may be most helpful for your temperament, history, presenting issues, and treatment goals. I view therapeutic work as collaborative, relational, and dynamic. I hold a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University. I completed my clinical practicum training at The Family Institute’s Bette D. Harris Family & Child Clinic, as well as at the Family Institute’s Mindfulness and Behavior Therapy program at Northwestern University.
