Hi, I am Jennifer “Jen” Hightower, MSW, LGSW. I have been working in direct services for 7 years. I specialize in working with vulnerable populations, such as individuals experiencing homelessness, victims of domestic violence, formerly incarcerated, and people suffering with substance use disorders.
As a Washington, DC native and DBH Certified Peer Support Specialist/Recovery Coach, I am passionate about providing quality care to underserved communities and working through complex issues.
My therapeutic interventions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychoeducation, Psychodynamic therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused (SFBT), & Strength Based Therapy. I am also an advocate for Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, and in my sessions, will use this framework to help you determine which needs should be prioritized.
