As a NYC-based choreographer, dancer, and teacher for over 20 years, Jessi Patz has taught, choreographed, and performed for dance venues, film, theater, and comedy shows worldwide. She uses her extensive background in dance and movement to assist performers—and all patients—in building long careers through a deeper understanding of their body, anatomy, pain science, and the importance of maintaining a strong foundation. A passionate Doctor of Physical Therapy, Jessi earned her DPT from the City University of New York, College of Staten Island, and has dedicated herself to a lifelong study of Pilates and rehab. She has worked for Physioarts and Function First PT clinics and provided PT treatment backstage to Broadway performers and crews of Hamilton, Book of Mormon, Chicago, Head Over Heels, The Prom, Be More Chill, Aladdin, Mean Girls, and many others. Jessi has also worked with dancers from Mark Morris, Alvin Ailey, American Ballet Theater, Boston Ballet, Nathan Trice, Radio City’s The Rockettes, and more. She hosts workshops and is a frequent guest lecturer to dance students in grade schools and universities, as well as to Physical Therapy Doctoral Candidates.
FlySpace Physical Therapy rehabilitates, trains, and educates dancers, athletes, and others to help them function at their highest level safely and long term. Everyone on the FlySpace team has deep experience in the performing arts and understands the physical and emotional strain of injury and recovery. We work with dancers, actors, vocal artists, ice skaters, professional athletes, weekend warriors, and anyone who wants to lead an active life, aiming to get them back to work as quickly as possible. We collaborate with your entire health and wellness team to ensure care is efficient, thorough, and long-lasting. Jessi is such an incredible, thorough, intelligent, and wonderful physical therapist. She helped me immensely through a foot injury, giving the injury proper time to heal, for my foot to steadily get back to the basics, and to help me become even stronger and more aware of my body placement/habits. Each session with Jessi left me feeling positive, confident, and stronger than before. She has a wonderful way of sharing her knowledge, assessing injury/ability, and putting together a straightforward, effective gradual recovery plan while making clients feel welcome and at ease.
Thank you for helping me so very much, and for such inspiring, fun, and positive PT sessions! I truly appreciate it. I would recommend FlySpace PT and Jessi to anyone looking for an outstanding physical therapy studio/physical therapist.

Very detailed and personal approach to my SPECIFIC physical therapy needs. I've never had a PT experience where someone is tailoring exercises for me. Their treatment kept me from surgery -and I am even stronger than I was. I cannot recommend this place -and Jessi ENOUGH!

Jessi is AMAZING! I am so grateful to have been under her care and guidance. Not only did I feel myself getting significantly stronger, but I learned so much about my own body by working with her. Our sessions prepared me for future injury prevention as well as what was needed in the short term. She is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, kind, and patient, and I always looked forward to our sessions. I would recommend her to anyone!!!!!

Jessi is an actual miracle worker. I suffer from chronic neck/back issues that flare up every few years and I always know she can get me back in shape in just a few visits. Not only that, but she’s incredibly understanding and empathetic. I’ve seen other PTs and no one holds a candle to FlySpace.
