Jose Antonio Sosa-Roche,MD is a compassionate Doctor of Psychiatry specializing in:

Dr. Sosa-Roche does not accept or file any insurance plans. He only sees private pay clients, although he is an official VA Tricare Provider (West) for Veteran's and/or family who set visit up via myTricare.com.
Dr. Sosa-Roche has extensive experience and knowledge gleaned since his first Residency at one of the busiest hospitals in New York City (starting in 1976). He generally spends no less than 60 minutes with each client initially, so he really gets to know and understand each person's needs. Psychotherapy or "talk-therapy" is also one of the tools used to complement some treatment regimens.
Dr. Sosa-Roche is an expert in his primary field of Forensic Psychiatry, with a unique ability to help his patients with the newest approaches, as well as keen insight into achieving optimum results by applying the most current psychiatric research in concert with a new generation of pharmacological products. While Dr. Sosa-Roche, MD has sought to educate himself on the latest science in his practice specialty, but one of his greatest attributes is knowing where new generation approaches are never as good as the founding minds who brought psychiatry into the 21st century.

Dr. Sosa-Roche is a brilliant Doctor of Psychiatry with thorough understanding of the human condition and the vast complexities of cognition, pathologies, and modern medicine. His acumen is only matched by his kindness, his attention to detail, and his candid, heartfelt advice and recommendations. He is much more than the piece of paper that qualifies him to practice medicine. He speaks not just to the person, but to the spirit. I would highly recommend him to anyone experiencing mental hardship of any kind and of any origin.

Dr. Jose Sosa-Roche is a wonderful, kind and caring man and so is his staff. I didn't mind waiting because he really spends time with his patients and he makes you feel like a friend. I would recommend him to anyone.

Please do not go to him for any reason. Not sure if its because of his age if yes then He should be in retired and should never treat patients. He is not the right person to treat any of your condition. Its waste of money. He forgot the medicines and searching for it in front of us.

I arrived early and he was able to take me right away. He is a very understanding doctor and extremely knowledgeable. He also listens to everything you say, which is important when you need to convey very personal information. I have already recommended him and will continue to. By far this is the best Psychiatrist appointment I have ever had. He took time to listen and we had a significant discussion before a treatment plan was devised.

He listens, he's friendly, intelligent and interesting but he's no dummy either. He immediately spotted some things in my past that are definitely relevant to my treatment but that I was reluctant to talk about. I'm grateful to have such a competent physician. If you don't talk about it, the doc can't consider it in your treatment and you won't heal it. Right? Right.

He actually listened to me. He spent close to 2 hours with me and several times he would stop and ask me " are you ok?" . My previous psychiatrist never had available appointments and had to go months without seeing him. José treated me like a person. Has a very genuine spirit and asked me questions about my life and didn't just throw pills at me. He made a plan tailored to me because I didn't want to be a zombie or addicted to medications like in the past. He put all of my fears to rest and told me how intelligent I was and that I am going to be OK. I haven't been on a treatment plan for my mania for a while because no one ever took the time, I will say he's fat from me and he's a pay by the hour psychiatrist, but he will work with you. I am glad I found him. Cheers to you Jose!

From the moment I met Dr. Sosa-Roche I felt comforted by his professionalism and the atmosphere was welcoming. He takes his time in deciding what care or plan that you receive. He is also a compationate professional. Usualy there is no wait times to see the Doctor. I would highly recommend Dr. Sosa-Roche to other potential patients with addiction and/or pshyc. issues.
