Phenomenal! We’re so excited to have found this doctor for couples therapy. She is already helping us.
I feel Dr. Nathan took the time to really get to know me and knows me so well. She has definitely been very helpful and has the good judgement to always ask "Do you want my opinion?" because sometimes, I do and sometimes I don't and just want to talk. She is always respectful and responsive to what I need regarding my problem.

More about Dr. Joyce Nathan, PhD

In my Greenwich and White Plains offices, I work with people who are burdened by feelings of depression and anxiety. Many of my clients have problems with a partner, child, adult child, parent, boss, business partner, etc. My approach is collaborative and respectful. We aim at understanding the contribution you may be making to an "emotional lock." An emotional lock is the repetitive pattern of behavior which occurs between you and the other person which is frustrating, dysfunctional and predicable. When the pattern is well established, feelings of resentment and alienation eventually set in. Destructive acting-out behaviors like affairs, cybersex, angry outbursts, alcohol or drug dependency may develop. These behaviors cause chronic hurt and resentment. If children are involved, the dynamic intensifies. My manner is respectful, involved and active. I have been described as warm, compassionate, insightful and emotionally present. I use a combination of insight and cbt, treating adults and teens and working collaboratively with parents when appropriate. Relationships often suffer due to poor communication where people are misunderstood and frustrated .Therapy can provide solutions for more direct, open and responsive communication. Other problems I work with include anger management, anxiety (including social anxiety, panic), depression, separation/divorce, traumatic loss, acute trauma, PTSD and dissociation, distrust, shame and diminished self worth, ADHD, procrastination, LD, eating disorders, underachievement, young adults "finding themselves". Dr. Nathan is mindful of her clientele and approaches each session as such.

We never seemed to get around to talking about the issues I needed to talk about, and she also would not send receipts for me to receive reimbursement from my health insurance. Friendly, but not helpful.
Very helpfull

Dr. Nathan is a very professional therapist, and always seems to help me, and is very detail oriented. I would recomad her to anyone seeking help or advice.
She really listens & has great insight. Her compassion & bedside manner are wonderful qualities in a therapist. I highly recommend Dr. Nathan.
I have worked with Joyce Nathan on and off for many years for various problems. The Doctor has always helped resolve my issues and I would reccomend her to anyone. I have worked with other therapists and none have had the ability to keep as well focused and on target.
I've been seeing Joyce for about 1 year. I am very satisfied with my progress. She is easy to talk to, very compationate and helped tremendously through my grieving process.
I've been to other therapists but Joyce really is the best. I don't know what I would do without her. She has been a huge help to me. She helps me deal with my crazy family and helps me figure out what I'm feeling and how I'm going to handle it. She is patient, smart, kind and I trust her like no one else.
I have consulted with Dr. Nathan whenever a particular problems arises: anger at work, relationship issues with my kids, communication problems with my wife. She had helped me a lot. She quickly gets to the heart of my issues and the situation and gives me tools I can use to deal with it. I recommend her without reservation.
