Hi there, I'm Juan!
My name is Juan Mayorga-Lozada, LCSW. I obtained my Clinical License in 2020 but had been working in a clinical capacity 5 years prior as an ASW. My expertise lies in trauma, anxiety, and depression. I've worked with adolescents to adults. My approach is meeting clients where they are emotionally and psychologically and respecting them as the experts in their lives. My drive is to establish and maintain a strong rapport for patients to trust me as a confidant or guide as we navigate together through their concerns.
My approach
My therapeutic modality is a mixture of Cognitive Processing and Cognitive Behavioral therapy. Although important to treat the immediate concerns, there is always an underlying cause which is what I help my patients identify and address, so they heal and continue progressing.
My focus
I often work with clients who have a trauma history of some kind and are trying to live with depression and anxiety in any form. I understand it takes time for clients to progress so I do not push until they are ready. However, clients who are truly invested in addressing their concerns are the ones I work with the best.
My communication style
I try to create an emotionally safe environment so patients are comfortable in choosing to be vulnerable with me. I try to practice active and reflective listening so my patients can see I am interested in their overall well-being. I understand that engaging in therapy with a stranger can be intimidating and choose to respect that apprehension. As such, my clients often are quick in becoming comfortable with me and sharing anything with me.
