Hi there, I'm Judy!
Hello! My name is Judy Craig and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in CA, WA, and NY. My goal in working with clients is to offer a supportive, collaborative, and engaging space where together we can better understand the past (family of origin, intergenerational trauma, cultural influences, socioeconomic experiences, etc.), accept the present, and identify empowering shifts in beliefs and actionable steps to repurpose previous thoughts, emotions, and expectations to improve self-image, confidence, and hope for the future.
My approach
I utilize a variety of approaches and interventions including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, Person-Centered, Christian and Faith-Based, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I believe every person's story and needs are different and unique, and I strive to provide authentic validation and tools that cater to the individual.
My focus
Since 2007, I have worked with adults 18-90+ years of age in outpatient mental health and education settings. My MSW clinical practice was in school-based agencies and I have extensive experience working with children with special needs, their families, and community partners/school districts. I enjoy working with individual adults regarding phase of life transitions, depression/anxiety/stress with relationships and planning for the future, processing grief and loss issues, and identifying purpose and intential steps for a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
My communication style
My clients have consistently shared that I am kind, patient, and a good listener that provides feedback and validation. I feel fortunate to have an opportunity to provide a safe and supportive space for clients to share their story, thoughts, and feelings, and support them with strategies, resources, and shifting perspectives for more confidence and peace in their lives.
