Karen entered the field of mental health counseling because of her personal experiences many years ago with mental health treatment and the effects of mental health disorders on the family. She is intimately familiar with the experience of counseling from the client's perspective. Counseling is not simply a job or paycheck for Karen, but a means of paying forward the gratitude she feels for the investments others made in her and her family's lives.
With 13 plus years of clinical experience and another 7 years of experience facilitating groups, Karen is able to provide her clients (patients) with a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and individualized treatment plan. Whether the problem relates to trauma, depression, anxiety, or relationship distress, clients receive thoughtful consideration for their needs. Clients have therapeutic options such as talk therapy, mind-body therapy, hypnosis, and skills building. For those who wish to receive faith-based counseling, Karen is open to discussing inclusion of prayer and Biblical principles in sessions.
