Karn was a great Physical Therapist - he always went out of his way to schedule my appointments (sometimes staying late or coming in early) to accommodate my schedule. I felt as though he really cared and wanted to see and help me get better. I would highly recommend him.

Karn Santikul, DPT, COMT, CSCS is a graduate from Columbia University with his Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. Karn's focus is in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation. His approach to physical therapy is eclectic and pragmatic in that he draws from a number of different approaches to formulate the best plan of care. The result is a highly individualized course of therapy for each patient. Karn has worked previously at Summit Physical Therapy in Larchmont and Recovery Physical Therapy in the Bronx prior to starting NYSSPT. In addition, his completed clinical rotations at Columbia University have included affiliations at White Plains Hospital, St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, and Australian Physiotherapy in Manhattan. His completed group research thesis on VMO Strengthening was presented in New Orleans at the annual Physical Therapy's Combined Section Meetings in February 2005.
Karn's has focused on the Geoffrey Maitland approach and is certified in Orthopedic Manual Therapy by the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist who works with Athletes on Performance Enhancement. He continues to grow as a clinician and is now practicing Kinesio Taping as a manual/hands on therapist.

My first visit with Karn Santikul was wonderful. He is professional without being stuffy; caring; is very knowledgeable and with just my first visit in which we only did a few exercises and treatments, I see a marked improvement in my knees. I also feel that he is there for you - the patient - and wants you to get better whether it takes three weeks or three months. I feel he is truly concerned about my getting well.

My son went to see him once his cast came off for a broken elbow. I never got to meet him as my husband took him to the PT sessions. Dr. Santikul was very patient and thorough with him, and now after 4 weeks he got the okay from his doctor to resume sports. Thanks, Dr. Santikul!

He is the most pleasant person to work with. Also very informative and knowledgeable about therapeutic care. All my questions are answered with consideration and thoughfulness. I never feel rushed and accomplish much during my 30 minute sessions. I learn something new at each session as well. I would highly recommend Karn Santikul to family, friends and coworkers.
