“I have been seeing Katherine for IFS therapy and it has changed my life.. because of IFS I am now getting along better with my parents and I’m engaged to be married. My self esteem has improved greatly and I don’t stress out about things at work as much anymore. when I first started therapy, all of these areas were an issue. If you’re struggling I highly recommend seeing Katherine for IFS. ”

“I worked with Katherine for about a year and she helped me in a lot of areas of my life. She is incredibly easy to talk to and helped me get in touch with parts of myself I didn't know were there or pushed down for a long time. I would recommend her to anyone, especially someone who wants real therapy and wants to work with someone who digs deep.”

Getting to know Katherine Lee

Welcome! My approach is practical and supportive, while also making room for creativity, intuition, and meaning, For clients who are spiritually curious or creatively inclined, I can integrate astrology as a reflective tool tool to deepen self-understanding and support personal growth - but always in service of clear goals and real life-change. I am also trained in IFS (Internal Family Systems Therapy) an evidence-based approach that helps clients understand and work compassionately with different parts of themselves. This framework supports self-trust and lasting change. I am a New York City–trained and accredited psychotherapist and astrologer with a master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree from Sarah Lawrence College. I’ve worked with millennials and adults for over ten years, and I provide warm, grounded counseling for individuals seeking relief from anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My work supports people who are sensitive, creative, and thoughtful - often those who feel deeply and are navigating anxiety, uncertainty, or major life changes. I offer a grounded, compassionate approach that prioritizes emotional relief and practical coping while also honoring intuition and inner meaning. Common issues I encounter and enjoy working with in a therapeutic and spiritual space include: -Feeling lonely even when not alone -Relationship anxiety or insecurity -Breakups, grief after relationships, or dating fatigue -Quarter-life/midlife transitions -Repeating unhealthy relationship patterns -Rebuilding stability after a difficult period -Second guessing yourself or struggling to trust your decisions -Creative blocks or fears about being seen -Integrating spriritual beliefs with daily life

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work from a parts-based perspective, which means we approach your experiences with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. You don't need to have insight or "the right words" to begin - together we'll explore what is happening internally in a way that feels safe, respectful to your system, and manageable. For clients who are interested, I can integrate astrology as a reflective tool to support insight and self-trust. This is always used thoughtfully, alongside evidence-based therapeutic work to support clarity and emotional growth rather than replace practical coping or goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session with me is collaborative and tailored to what you're bringing in that day. We may begin by checking in on current stressors or situations that feel most pressing. From there, we work toward understanding underlying patterns and developing practical ways to respond with clarity and self-compassion. When astrology is integrated, we may look at your natal chart as a reflective tool to help identify recurring themes, obstacles, or strengths in your life. This often leads naturally into parts work, insight or emotional patterns, or a deeper understanding of how different aspects of you respond to stress or relationships. We may also explore relationship dynamics through chart synastry to better understand attachment patterns, emotional triggers, and what helps you feel safer or more more connected in relationships. astrology is always optional and used thoughtfully alongside evidence-based therapeutic work.

EXCELLENT with anxiety.

Katherine was recommended to me by a friend awhile back, and she's the best therapist I have yet to see. I almost always leave sessions feeling better, and am continuing to understand more about myself and my relationships. Katherine is also very good at giving feedback and telling me what she thinks in a direct, yet supportive, non judgmental way, which is not something I was used to getting from previous therapists. Everytime she has given me tools to help me, she explains everything in a way that makes sense, and that really get at what bothers me or gets in my way during the week. She's simply really good at what she does and comes highly recommended by me!
This is the first time I've tried therapy, and the appointment went really well, even better than expected. I appreciated the questions she asked instead of jumping to conclusions about me, but what she did say was completely spot on. Walking out of the office, I already feel more hopeful about my situation and can't wait to go back!
This was my first session with Katherine.. She has a very good bedside manner and I felt comfortable with her from the start!
Katherine made me feel comfortable from my very first session with her. She listens well, is attentive and really helps me in managing anxiety and frequent worrying. I highly recommend her!
Katherine has helped me to understand myself in ways that have been really helpful. She is always friendly, on time, and genuinely interested in whatever I have to say, or whatever's going on. I always look forward to my sessions.
