Hello and welcome! I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to share a little bit about myself and my passion for helping others. My name is Kendall Palmer, and I'm a counseling therapist specializing in reality therapy and healing from trauma, abuse, anxiety, and major life transitions. I believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy, addressing the mind, body, and spirit to promote overall well-being.
My journey to becoming a therapist began with a deep desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. I have always been fascinated by the complexity of human emotions and the power of the mind to heal. After earning my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas and witnessing the transformative effects of therapy in my own life, I knew this was the path I was meant to follow.
Now, let's talk a little bit about reality therapy. This approach focuses on the present and helps individuals develop effective problem-solving skills and take responsibility for their actions. By exploring the choices we make and the consequences they have, reality therapy empowers clients to make positive changes in their lives.
When it comes to healing from trauma and abuse, my goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for my clients. I believe that healing is possible for everyone and that it’s essential to honor each person’s unique journey. I use a combination of evidence-based techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and acceptance-commitment therapy, to help individuals process their experiences and build resilience.
Anxiety and major life transitions can be overwhelming, but with the right support, they can also become growth opportunities. I work closely with my clients to develop coping strategies, explore the underlying causes of their anxiety, and help them navigate life changes with confidence and resilience.
