I am a Board Certified psychiatrist with over fifteen years of clinical experience since my graduation from residency. While I maintain a general practice in psychiatry, areas of expertise include psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and work with patients suffering from medical illness; I have completed accredited fellowships in these areas at Cornell, Columbia, and Memorial Sloan Kettering.
My formal training in the above areas allow me to do the most thoughtful and comprehensive evaluations of patients, from emotional, physical, and neuropsychiatric perspectives. You can feel confident that I take my time and examine your circumstances and experiences, from which I can intelligently confer an appropriate diagnostic impression and treatment plan.
Lastly, my affiliation with both the Cornell and Columbia medical community affords me access to the best psychiatric subspecialists New York has to offer. If, in the course of your consultation, I feel another specialist would better address your diagnostic or treatment goals, I will facilitate a referral to one of my exceptional colleagues.
Nothing matters more to me than the health and well being of my patients. Whether I treat you myself, or get you to a more appropriate specialist, your concerns will be addressed with the utmost care and responsiveness.

Dr. Cohen approached me and my history with attentiveness, concern, respect, and compassion. He went out of his way to understand exactly what I am going through. At the end of the session, he explained to me why he thought another specialist would work better with my particular condition, and was able to contact her immediately to make the referral. Not only is Dr. Cohen exceptional, but his network of resources is truly impressive. Plus, he has the humility and integrity to refer to someone he feels would do a better job. Amazing!

I had an amazing visit with Dr. Cohen. He is honestly one of the best doctors I have been to. I am not from New York originally so it can be tough finding good doctors in a new city. I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Cohen. I would recommend him to any of my friends or family. As someone else mentioned, he goes above and beyond to make his patients feel cared for and really cares about your personal recovery. I trust him, and that's so important for me to find in a doctor.
