Dr. Holmes’ clients appreciate her depth of wisdom and down to earth practicality gained from years of experience in individual therapy as well as her engagement on the front lines as an advocate for women's issues. She uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach mixed with practical mindfulness techniques. She believes there are many systems that impact the way that we feel, some of which we have little control of.
She does career assessments and life coaching with executive women & women professionals from various sectors including the entertainment and medical industry, academia, and technology. Dr. Holmes is also trained in EMDR.
Dr. Holmes specializes in helping clients cope with chronic medical conditions like heart disease, cancer and rare diseases. She has trauma training certifications in Disaster Mental Health, is ICCT Trained (Plane Crashes, Mass Shootings) and is certified in therapy with ADD/ADHD related life challenges.
Dr. Holmes is at the forefront of women's wellness and mental health through her social, academic, and political work. She serves on the Board of Directors of The United Nations Women's Council - US and has acted as a moderator for an NGO at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, and has served as a panelist at the Women Leaders Forum as part of the United Nations General Assembly and participated in the Zero Mothers Die initiative. While a Professor at University of Southern California, she taught on topics related to global health, gender and media, as well as technology’s impact on relationships. On top of all that, Dr. Holmes ran for Congress in 2014 in California's District 33.
