Krissy has a desire to create a safe, non-judgmental, empathic environment during the counseling process. She truly believes that when people feel comfortable becoming vulnerable and sharing their stories, true healing, strength, and freedom can happen to move on from past and present hurts. Krissy is an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained therapist who can work with clients on a wide range of traumas or adverse emotional experiences. She also draws from a variety of modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, to assist in processing past and present events that may be holding us back from realizing our full potential.
Originally from the heart of America, Ohio, Krissy overcame traumatic events from her childhood and realized she often took on the role of helper with her friends and family. She understood she had a gift to help others overcome their own personal struggles. Krissy graduated in 2002 from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, with a BA in Psychology and then earned her MA in Counseling from Liberty University in 2006. After completing several hours toward her supervised counseling, Krissy realized she had a heart to serve and help people internationally. In 2010, she boarded a plane and lived in London, England, for nearly nine years. While in London, Krissy was accredited with the British Association of Counselors and Psychotherapists (2015–2017) and worked with a variety of people from many different cultures and backgrounds. Having returned to America in 2018, Krissy set to work establishing her counseling practice back in the US. Her work has included issues around anxiety, domestic violence, stress, depression, life adjustments, LGBTQ+, substance use disorders, relationship issues, young adult issues, and working through cross-cultural adjustments.
