I am a psychotherapist with extensive training across many modes of the study of human experience and the change process, from cognitive work to a psychoanalytic psychotherapeutic approach to more alternative kinds of work: intuitive, expressive, meditation, imagery, dreamwork, and other forms of working with energy and emotions.
In addition to working with occurrences of anxiety, depression, relationship and family problems, loss, or trauma, my background in the arts and in running a successful business, combined with my years as a therapist, provides a basis for addressing creative or business issues and career counseling, any of which we may address together in the therapy work.
Recent studies have taken me to consider the newer ideas in neurobiology; current exciting findings in the field of relationship, especially those in early mother/child interactions; and positive psychology theory.
I choose to be independent of insurance company panels. However, depending on your health insurance policy, the company might reimburse some part of the fees for psychotherapy. Call your insurance company and ask 1) what your out-of-network mental health benefits are, 2) the amount of your deductible, 3) the percentage or dollar amount of your reimbursement, and 4) the number of sessions per year that you are entitled to.
