Hello! My name is Latasha Evans, I am passionate about working with adolescents, teens, and young adults. My teenage years was a pivotal time of my life. My life’s trajectory has been impacted by many adversaries I experienced growing up. Resiliency and problem solving helped me navigate through life. My experience as a school counselor and licensed professional counselor brings a wealth of knowledge working with young people.
My theoretical orientation supports a holistic approach to every child’s life. I consider solution-focused brief therapy when working in a school setting. It works well for short term therapy by challenging the individual to think about past obstacles they’ve overcame. Also, it promotes individuals to not only consider the past but the future as well. I believe it is important for individuals to understand the control they have over their lives. I believe cognitive behavior therapy helps support the change individuals want to see in their lives. We will establish a therapeutic relationship that will focus on individuals becoming more effective in their lives and finding better ways to cope with life’s stressors.
