Hi there, I'm Laura!
My name is Laura Goddard, I have a master's degree and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. I am licensed as a marriage and family therapist. My specialty Mostly: Couples, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Bereavement, Work Related stressors, and ADHD.
My approach
My Approach: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focus, Inside Oriented Approach, and Trauma Informed. Very action-oriented therapist. I also Believe in the impact of the "Adverse Childhood Experiences and the Toxic Stress. Working also as a Divorce Mediator, I bring my mediation skills into the couple's therapy session. Sometimes, I encourage the Silence Intervention, especially with couples. Plus, solution focus.
My focus
Marriage counseling, job-related stress, ADHD, Trauma and Bereavement, and adolescents. Lately, I have been successful with clients over 60 years old dealing with the upcoming retirements and life after as they embrace a new chapter in their life.

My journey to mental healthcare
I started in Vienna, Austria as a Trauma therapist dealing with female adolescents and young adults who were raped while they were in Lebanon, it was the civil war there, I came here to the USA, started as a social worker, got another master's degree, and a PH.D. I always found and still find "Kindness and Caring" very rewarding in life.
My goals for you
Because I am a very action-oriented therapist, I give the client the chance to set their own short-term goal to start with, leading to a long-term goal. I don't waste my time with clients just want to complain but they don't want to have a solution.

Up to the clients, what they want to bring into the session. But at least, I would like to know "why they are seeking therapy"?
