What to expect in therapy with me:
I strive to reach clients where they are holistically and enjoy working with people at every phase of their journey. My goal as a therapist is to establish an authentic and trusting relationship to work together to help you live a fulfilling life. As a trans nonbinary person with over ten years in long-term recovery, I know firsthand the challenges LGBTQ+ and gender expansive people experience in treatment settings and beyond. I consider myself to be especially attuned to supporting other people in the LGBTQ+ community and have extensive experience serving emerging adults within that community. We will work together to shatter the barriers that are holding you back from reaching your contentment in life.
What makes me different:
My lived experiences as a trans nonbinary person in recovery gives me a unique lens from which to work. I bring honesty and a genuine direct approach to my work. I am empathetic and believe in your ability to reach your goals.
Nuts and Bolts:
I have a Masters of Social Work degree from Western Carolina University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina Asheville. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate. As a therapist, I work from an attachment perspective and engage clients’ entire experience in the therapeutic process. I am also in training for EMDR and will be including this into my clinical work.
