Leah Kaplan, LCSW, CASAC has been specializing in adult and adolescent psychotherapy for the past 20 years. Using an empathetic, supportive, and non-judgmental approach, Leah has provided counseling in schools, outpatient facilities and hospital settings, as well as maintaining a private practice. Leah strives to provide a positive and validating environment so that her clients can learn to replicate this stance towards themselves in their own life. This is possible in therapy by exploring problem areas and then working together to develop coping skills. Therapy is a process where therapist and client work together to help create positive change. Leah’s area of focus is depression, anxiety, addiction and dual diagnosis. For several years she worked at Silver Hill Hospital providing different treatment modalities in both inpatient and outpatient settings. During that time, she focused on clinical treatment and led a Women’s IOP. In conjunction with her work at Ilana D. Rosenberg, Ph.D. Psychology P.L.L.C., Leah provides clinical intervention and counseling in a school setting to address the social and emotional needs of adolescents. Leah holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ithaca College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. She received her CASAC at St. Vincent’s Maxwell Institute and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
