Therapy can help bring awareness to unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior, allow space to feel the emotions we don’t always give ourselves time for, understand the impact of trauma and heal from it, and learn skills to emotionally regulate, communicate better, and see new perspectives.
Therapy is a place to be free of stigma, fear of judgment, or uncertainty. It’s a place where you don’t have to present yourself as a finished product. In therapy, we get to stay in rough draft.
I aim to create a safe space in which to freely express and work through issues related to mood, identity, relationships, and life transitions. I have experience working with a wide range of people trying to heal from trauma and abuse. I draw from trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, psychodynamic, feminist, and anti-racist treatment frameworks. I utilize a Harm Reduction lens, meaning that abstinence from substances isn’t the only option for increasing your quality of life if you’re using substances.
I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
