Hi! My name is Lindsay Summers and I use she and they pronouns interchangeably. I am a trauma-informed Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Maryland. I am originally from a small town outside Pittsburgh, PA, and I received my Master's of Social Work degree from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
My past clinical experience is in crisis intervention and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) working with survivors of sexual violence. I have worked with clients experiencing challenges with depression, anxiety, grief, suicidality, and identity.
I practice through a lens of anti-oppression, feminist, and queer theory. I deeply believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship and the importance of client-centered therapy that includes and honors all parts of clients' identities. I believe in a body, mind, and spiritual approach to healing through compassion and empathetic listening and support. In sessions, I seek to create as safe a space as possible, allowing for self-exploration and personal growth.
Outside of my role as a therapist, I love writing poetry, binging Netflix, cooking, reading, going to the beach, and spending time with my dog. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey towards wellness and healing!
