Has your teen experienced a traumatic event? Maybe you yourself have severe depression during or after your pregnancy and don't know what to do. If this sounds like you, you are in the right place. If you or your child are coping with low mood, anxiety, stress, or depression, you know life has become exhausting and you want relief from symptoms. I want to help you. I like to build a therapy roadmap with you so that you can see change in your life and have reduced symptoms. Renewed hope is the ultimate goal of therapy.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and have over 19 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults. I have experience as a school social worker in therapeutic day schools, public elementary, and junior high schools, as well as working as a clinical counselor in psychiatric hospital settings. I am certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and fluent in mindfulness practices. I specialize in working with people who have anxiety, depression, ADHD, and OCD, and I focus on children, teens, and young adults. I incorporate empathic therapy and real-life skills to help you achieve your goals.
I like to spend the first few sessions getting to know my clients and what they wish to get out of therapy. Who do you want to be? If you feel uncertain about therapy or overwhelmed by symptoms, I want to help you feel at ease and get what you need out of therapy.
