Hello, my name is Lisa Williams, and I am a licensed professional counselor. I have worked in the mental health field for over 30 years. Throughout my career, I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings with different populations and age groups. My approach as a therapist is client centered, and solution focused. These approaches emphasize working with clients to help them make positive changes to improve their lives. I believe in incorporating Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies in the treatment process. It is my philosophy to focus on helping clients improve various aspects of their lives, such as stress reduction, emotional stability, improved communication, and improved interpersonal relationships. I believe with a good support system anyone can overcome their issues and challenging experiences. I view therapy as a journey that I go on with clients to address both past and current issues. These issues may include decreasing depression/anxiety, improved communication skills, anger management, and overcoming trauma stemming from abuse, or grief and loss issues. I want clients to know they are not alone, and it is important to aid them in learning how to cope with difficult situations. Gaining a sense of balance, and peace during a storm is a primary goal in improving anyone’s quality of life. I am here for you and look forward to collaborating with you.
