Dr. Lyanna Ortiz is a physical therapist at Exchange Physical Therapy Group Jersey City. She earned her B.S. in Exercise Science from Rutgers University–New Brunswick in 2021 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rutgers University–New Brunswick in 2024.
During her time at Rutgers, Dr. Ortiz served as secretary of the Community Participatory Physical Therapy Clinic, a student-run pro bono clinic that works to improve the quality of life of underserved populations. Lyanna also volunteered as a functional human anatomy teaching assistant to deepen her understanding of the topic and share her knowledge with other aspiring health professionals.
Throughout her graduate studies, Lyanna worked with patients of all ages and social backgrounds, including children, adults, and military veterans. She has experience in various clinical settings, including outpatient orthopedics, pediatrics, and acute care, and has treated patients with diverse musculoskeletal, developmental, and neurological diagnoses. Before joining the team at EPTG, Dr. Ortiz worked as a school-based physical therapist, providing physical therapy services to students in their school environments.
Lyanna enjoys spending time outdoors, roller skating, exploring new restaurants, baking, and salsa dancing in her spare time. Dr. Ortiz aims to create a comfortable and collaborative treatment environment that fosters communication between patients and physical therapists to improve their functional capacity and help them meet their goals.
