Hi there, I'm Lydia!
Hello! My name is Lydia (pronounced Lih-dee-uh), and my pronouns are she/her. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in West Valley City, Utah, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of New England. I have worked with adults, adolescents, and the elderly, and my current interest is working with adults dealing with chronic illnesses, including chronic pain, and related issues such as depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. I also have a passion for working with individuals who identify as LGBTQ+. Although I identify as straight, I have close family members who are LGBTQ+, and I have fought and will continue to fight for them.
My approach
I identify as a Solutions Focused practitioner. I believe you are the professional of your life. You know yourself better than anyone else-certainly better than I do!-even if at this moment you feel as if you know nothing about yourself. I am the professional of therapy things. Together, we explore who you are and what you want in your life. I also use other modalities to help us clarify these details-including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and more. I am always learning new practices to help my clients, and sometimes it becomes clear in sessions that you need something new, and I bring it to the table. And also, it's fun!
My focus
As mentioned, my current focus is adults dealing with chronic illness, including chronic pain, which often trigger mental conditions such as depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. I also want to support individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, particularly those who identify as transgender, dealing with mental health issues.
