What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to create a safe and supportive place for you to process what you need, whether that be emotions, negative thoughts, trauma, etc. Together, we will figure out what your therapeutic goals are and how to move forward in implementing them. Therapy can be an extremely intimidating idea at first and my purpose is to support you unconditionally as you work on your relationship with yourself and others. My hope is to help aid in your understanding of your needs in order to help you feel more equipped for everyday life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work from a person-centered approach meaning I want to meet you exactly where you are with what you feel like you need. For me, the most important part in successful therapy is building a strong therapeutic relationship, so I enjoy spending time getting to know you and what life looks like for you. I utilize treatment approaches from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Play Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Together, we will figure out which coping skills can be utilized in a beneficial way and work towards a healthier overall functioning.
