Marc E. Angers, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Psychoanalyst who for many years has been a Psychotherapist in private practice working with adults (individuals and couples) with issues ranging from depression and anxiety to relationship and work problems, and everything in between having to do with the conflicts inherent in each unique stage-of-life throughout the life-cycle. His services are reimbursable by every insurance with policy provisions for out-of-network services for mental health. He utilizes a relational and psychodynamic-informed treatment approach that seeks to undo patterns of maladaptive adjustment behaviors that both get in the way of (among other things) allowing for greater mutuality, intimacy and gratification in love relationships; and greater capacity for success in work relationships.
An American Keasbey Fellow at Oxford University, U.K., where he received a Master’s in Politics and Philosophy in 1989, he also holds a Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work (received in 1995); and, as well, after successfully completing a four-year training program in Clinical Psychoanalysis at Washington Square Institute for Psychotherapy and Mental Health in 2000, a Certificate in Psychoanalysis.

Marc is fantastic. He has helped me navigate through my issues since I have moved to NY. Living in New York city is not easy - a man half professional as good as him makes it much easier. He is so helpful.

I have finally found the right person to help me. I look forward to our sessions. Some times it is what gets me through a really tough week. Marc is smart, patient, interesting and one of the best teachers, listeners I have ever met. He is often my lifeline.(Either in person via text, phone call) I wouldn't have made it through the past few years without him.

Marc was punctual to my scheduled appointment. He showed a great deal of professionalism in analyzing my case. He's also very compassionate towards me but straight forward when presenting his professional opinion about my feelings. He has been a tremendous help in my healing process. Finally, he usually shows flexibility in accommodating my schedule by talking with me via a phone or skype.
