The overarching goal of my work with clients is to empower individuals, couples and families to achieve optimal psychological, physical and financial balance and well being.
Before I tell you more about my philosophy I want to let you know what an "out of network" designation means. Payment for the session is made to Baker Associates. Baker Associates then provides you with a computerized statement. You submit the bill to your insurance company who in turn will reimburse you in accordance with your health insurance plan. An "out of network" practice ensures complete confidentiality.
My counseling approach is based on self-psychology, a branch of psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychology. Empathy for and affect atunement to the person seeking help create the means to facilitate a safe and trusting relationship. Within this secure base the help seeker is free to focus on problematic issues that are then processed and resolved within the context of the therapeutic relationship.
My two sub-specialties are Financial Therapy and ADD/ADHD.
I also draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, Gestalt therapy and EMDR.
