About Margaret (Maggie) Baker

My counseling approach is based on self-psychology, a branch of psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychology. Empathy for and affect atonement to the person seeking help create the means to facilitate a safe and trusting relationship. Within this secure base the help seeker is free to focus on problematic issues that are then processed and resolved within the context of the therapeutic relationship. My two sub-specialties are Financial Therapy and ADD/ADHD. I also draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, Gestalt therapy and EMDR. The overarching goal of my work is to empower individuals, couples and families to achieve optimal psychological, physical and financial balance and well being.
