Hello, I'm Marquita, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with over 14 years of experience as a psychotherapist. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of helping many individuals navigate through life's challenges, whether it's dealing with depression, anxiety, life transitions, career hurdles, or more complex issues such as trauma and abuse. My extensive experience includes working with a diverse range of concerns, from job stress and divorce to blended families and relocation transitions.
My counseling style is rooted in compassion, patience, and a non-judgmental, client-centered approach. I believe in being sensitive to the unique needs of each of my clients, and I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel heard and understood. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, combining cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, Christian counseling, and client-centered counseling. This allows me to tailor a specific, needs-based treatment plan that aligns with your personal goals and helps you put your best foot forward.
I specialize in a variety of areas, including anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, life transitions, stress, anger management, ADHD, family relationships, multicultural and diversity issues, perinatal support (pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum), phobias, PTSD, intimate and romantic relationships, and trauma.
