Does fear dictate how you live your life? Do you often worry about making the “right” decision or saying the “right” thing? Do you make decisions based on the path of least resistance? If you can relate to any of these questions, you are not alone. Anxiety is present in everyday life for many people, making daily living more difficult than it already is or has to be.
My passion is working with clients who are dealing with some form of anxiety. I understand what it’s like to have anxiety, parent an anxious child or teen and to work with others who deal with sometimes debilitating anxiety. Successful therapy for anxiety involves more than just talking about. It’s about understanding what triggers the feelings and coming up with a plan for how to deal with or accept the anxiety. For me, anxiety treatment means taking a holistic approach and understanding what clients’ lives look like from how much sleep they get, to their communication styles and thought patterns, to behaviors that reinforce anxiety and what kind of support they have.
I work with teens, young adults and adults who are dealing with all forms of anxiety from generalized to health anxiety to OCD, as well as depression and management of bipolar disorder. I also work with parents of children with anxiety and/or ADHD as well as behavioral issues.
I have worked in both in and outpatient hospital settings and private practice. Residing outside of Houston, I live with my husband of 29 years and we have two college age children, 2 dogs and 2 cats.
