Matthew Tinnirella graduated from Quinnipiac University with both his Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Prior to attending Quinnipiac, Matt grew up locally in Berkeley Heights, NJ attending Governor Livingston High School.
While playing baseball and ice hockey in his youth, Matt became interested in physical therapy as a profession after sustaining his own sports related injuries. He felt empowered by the knowledge his physical therapists provided him on his own injuries, and knew he wanted to help people in a similar way. Matt is passionate about advocating for his patients and equipping them with the tools they need to overcome their injuries.
Matt has experience treating a variety of musculoskeletal and orthopedic injuries, including sports related injuries, post-surgical diagnoses, and chronic conditions. He has previously worked with traumatic brain injury and acute neurological patients and has plans to earn his Certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation and Concussion through the American Institute of Balance. Matt takes an individualized, goal-driven approach to helping his patients of all ages get back to doing what they love.
When he’s not treating patients, Matt enjoys weight training and is an avid gym go-er. He also flexes his musical muscles playing his Fender Stratocaster electric guitar and jamming on the weekends. When he’s not watching the NY Rangers or listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, you can often find Matt hanging out with friends, fishing or kayaking the local lakes.
