Clients are often unsure what therapy looks like and what to expect. Many say it's like what they see in the movies. I take time to explain how the therapy process will actually unfold. I often tell clients that it's important to find a therapist who is a good fit and someone they feel comfortable with. If I'm not the right person for the job, then let's find someone who is. I also like to remind clients that they are the driver, and I am the passenger. I will guide them, but in the end, they will decide which direction to go. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago, which has equipped me with the skills to support clients through this journey.
