"I am a Social Worker who is experienced working with individuals with severe persistent mental illness and co-morbidity, my passion is utilizing music in our session and engaging in enriching collaborative work so we can meet your individual goals. I have been a licensed music therapist for the past six years, and graduated with my masters in 2022. I take a particular interest in working with those in the SPMI or LGBTQIA+ community. My ideal client would be someone who is actively ready to make changes, and willing to do work outside of session. They would be open to exploring ambivalence and collaborative. Their issues may pertain to mental health diagnosis or environmental/social stressors, or LGBTQIA+ issues. Their goals would be not perfection, but positive progress. I focus on building adaptive coping, resources, finding ways to break down barriers, and using resiliency and self-empowerment to progress. I also offer modalities of self-expression to take time to highlight your strengths, and boost self-esteem. My music I utilize is always live, improvisational, and analytic. I understand that it is a scary step to start therapy- opening up and being vulnerable can be truly frightening. But, there's an old saying of "it takes a village", and I really want to be part of it. Here's to your wellness, and for taking that first leap of faith.
