SYNC Psychological Services, PLLC & SYNC Somatics™ Hi there! My name is Melissa (she/her). I am a licensed sexologist specializing in sex and relationship therapy with SYNC Psychological Services. I hold a Master's in Social Work and an MEd in Sex and Relationship Therapy, both from Widener University. Once you book your first appointment with me, our intake coordinator will contact you via email and guide you through the intake process. If your preferred time slot is not available, please feel free to inquire about additional availability, and I'll see what I can do for you. I work with couples and individuals on issues around relationships, sex, and sexuality. Some areas of focus include sexual trauma, infidelity, domestic violence recovery, feeling insecure in relationships/low self-esteem, sexual exploration (whether related to gender identity, sexual behavior like kink and BDSM, or polyamory/ethical non-monogamy), sexual performance issues (erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, low arousal, difficulty reaching orgasm), and childhood trauma. I also treat general issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with individuals with ADHD and Autism.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is exploratory, educational, and collaborative. I make sure to navigate sensitive topics with the upmost respect for a person’s beliefs and experiences, being sure to honor their individual chosen path. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and mindfulness. I also draw from Eastern spirituality and practices like yoga and Tantra to help align the mind-body connection.
