Mike Steinweg is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California who has been practicing since 1997. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University, a Master’s in Social Work from San Diego State University, and a Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science.
Mike has a curious and compassionate perspective geared toward helping clients gain a greater sense of control and satisfaction in their lives, without judgment. He is also a licensed holistic practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine. Mike has extensive experience working with teens and adults, as well as couples and families. Over the years, he has supported clients struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship and transitional issues, mood disorders, and parenting challenges.
Mike’s underlying philosophy is primarily humanistic/existential, focusing on the individual’s experience and working within their personal framework and context. He continues to be impressed by the resilience of people under trying circumstances and likes to focus on strengths and solutions while facilitating understanding and perspective, which can be hard to see clearly in times of stress. This shared journey is what has kept him engaged and fulfilled over the last 30 years, and Mike looks forward to continuing to help others facing difficult situations and emotions.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys tennis, hiking, music, reading, and holistic medicine.
