Michele’s treatment approach and philosophy include helping clients to become more self-aware, gain insight, recognize faulty beliefs, and replace them with truth in a non-judgmental atmosphere of empathy, acceptance, warmth, and positive regard. She believes people are most reshaped by experiencing something new in order to break old, unhealthy patterns and perspectives. Being heard, validated, supported, and challenged while feeling safe are very powerful change elements. Depression, anxiety, life adjustment, parenting, personal growth, self-identity, relationship, sexual, body image, trauma, and grief and loss are topics with which Michele is very comfortable. She uses an eclectic approach that is person-centered and incorporates acceptance, mindfulness, reality, CBT, motivational interviewing, and sand-tray counseling. Michele believes the therapeutic relationship is vital and paramount to healing.
Outside of work, Michele enjoys spending time with her adult daughters, golf, yoga, cooking, and painting.
