Dr. Rhodes was an absolute godsend. I was at a troubling point in my life and really needed the relief that only a truly gifted therapist can inspire and I really lucked out. I have been to several therapists/psychoanalysts over the years and have never been able to connect to one quite like Dr. Rhodes. She is very personable and insightful and her methods really work.
I went to her twice a week - once for talk therapy and once for art therapy. The art therapy was very interesting and I was able to discover things about myself that I wasn't aware of. If you are in need, I highly recommend.

The focus of my work is to help my patients access strengths within themselves to meet their full potential, to live joyful and meaningful lives, to be strong in the face of trying circumstances, to make a positive contribution to the world, and to give and receive love.
I use expressive modalities, such as the use of miniatures in both wet and dry sand, clay art therapy, art therapy with a variety of other materials, intermodal expressive therapy integrating movement, art, writing, and using the voice, and play therapy for children.
My diverse educational and occupational experiences have prepared me for this broad and inclusive way of working. I am a Board Certified Art Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Certified Psychoanalyst. I am also a potter and clay artist and continue to be engaged in my own creative work.

Michelle is very intelligent and practical. I love that she includes art and other creative forms of expression as an alternate way to gain clarity and understanding around challenging life issues. I have a deeper understanding of my self and what I want in my life since working with her. I am thankful that I found such a compassionate and wise therapist.

From my first visits with Michelle, I noticed that she has an extremely good sense of when to talk, and more importantly, when not to talk. This sort of timing is necessary for any conversation but particularly this sort of conversation, where as the patient, time to think and reflect is crucial. Michelle has a calm, comforting way of being and speaking, and she said things with the purpose of having me use that time to think, which was so helpful.

My initial visit with Michelle Rhodes was excellent. She took time out to listen to my concerns while still voicing her opinions and even dedicated time to explain the treatment plan that she felt would be beneficial to me. Without comparison to other therapist, I'd say her skill and technique are unmatched.

Michelle is intuitive, life-experienced, and most of all in regard to the valuable questions she asks, as well as the pinpointed advice she gives. She knows how to observe behavior and enable you to recognize it without being didactic or overbearing. Her advice still resonates in my life and has made a true difference in the way I react to and handle conflict on a daily basis.
