Michelle Schweitzer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania who received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in 2009. She has more than 13 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults dealing with depression and anxiety, trauma, adjustment problems, relational difficulties, including parent-child conflict, and chronic health conditions. Michelle takes a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach and believes that real change occurs within the context of a safe and collaborative relationship.
Michelle is trained in a broad range of evidence-based therapies, which enable her to take an individualized approach and tailor treatment to her client’s personal values, needs, and goals. Notably, she has extensive experience providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to adolescents struggling with emotion regulation problems. She also utilizes trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD as well as relational and complex trauma. In addition to more traditional psychotherapy roles, Michelle has worked in primary care-mental health settings, helping individuals with chronic health conditions understand the mind-body connection, process new or existing medical conditions, and develop a personalized health plan to assist in whole health. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and practicing yoga.
