What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to make the process feel as safe, supportive, and collaborative as possible. I take a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, which means we move at a pace that feels right for you and focus on what matters most in your life right now. Our work together is active and practical, not just talking for the sake of talking. I use evidence-based strategies to help you better understand your emotions, develop coping skills, and build resilience, while also leaving space for reflection, insight, and healing. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting — we’ll work through it together. You can expect a nonjudgmental, respectful environment where your experiences are validated, and your goals guide treatment. I value transparency and collaboration, and I welcome feedback to ensure therapy meets your needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work usually begins with an initial session focused on understanding what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you’d like support with. We’ll also review relevant background information so I can get a full picture of your experiences, while making sure the process feels comfortable and respectful. In ongoing sessions, we’ll check in on how things have been going, explore current stressors or patterns, and work together on practical strategies you can use between sessions. Sessions may include discussion, skills-building, grounding techniques, and reflection, depending on your needs and preferences. I take a trauma-informed approach and adjust the structure and pace to fit you. Throughout treatment, we’ll regularly revisit your goals and progress, and you’re encouraged to share feedback at any time. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my role is to support you in building insight, resilience, and meaningful change in a way that feels manageable and empowering.
