Richelle Direny, LCSW

Psychotherapist
10570 South US Hwy 1, Ste 26, Port St Lucie, FL
My name is Richelle Direny, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Barry University and my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix. I am committed to helping each individual learn how to cope with the stress of life, managing too many responsibilities, anxiety, setting clear boundaries, coping with decline in functioning, and other life stressors. I seek to understand each person's desire to embark on their journey of healing and finding balance spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. My objective and hope is to assist in identifying the current season of their life and how to work through unresolved trauma through psychotherapy. I use various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotional Awareness techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and other approaches to help you become the best version of yourself and understand the current season of life you are in. To embark on this journey of healing and finding balance, one has to come to a place of real, inherent honesty—that true healing requires assistance and that doing it alone can feel overwhelming and heighten anxiety. My objective is to assist each of you in identifying where you are and working through the current season of your life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The tools that I'll provide you with are tools that I have been perfecting over my career helping people just like you. I have dozens of them. My goal for you is to have at least five different tools and techniques that you can carry with you at all times. So no matter where you go, you'll always have access to discreet exercises that can quickly create relief. I am direct and solution focused. We'll start with what's going on in the moment and how to get control over your body and thoughts. For the past 10 years, I have been doing clinical work and most recently I have attended trainings that teach leading edge techniques. We'll address what's going on in your brain when you feel anxious, stressed, or depressed and how to get in touch with different parts of your brain to find relief. We'll discuss what happens to your body when fear takes over so you can learn how to quickly calm down.
