The first two appointments were alright, but during the third Niecole seemed bored, and during the fourth it didn’t seem at all like she was paying attention - I ended a sentence and she looked up surprised, like she’d fallen asleep in math class, and literally said “um, I’m sorry - I got nothin’.” That’s absolutely wild to hear from someone who’s supposed to be getting to know you and helping to repair trauma and mental health.
That said, everyone has bad days, and no one can be attentive 100% of the time. I think sometimes we expect our therapists to be perfect, and they’re only human, but honestly I wanted to just hang up when I realized she was kind of checked out.
